Look for a pinkish hue at the Field of Dreams this week.

Thursday night, Oct. 12, Goddard High School from Roswell comes to Las Cruces to face Mayfield High School in a 7 p.m. game at the Field of Dreams. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for part of Warriors Week, a week of local events recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Mayfield is 4-3 after shutting out Santa Teresa 53-0 last week. Goddard comes into the 5A District 4 game with a 5-2 mark.

Friday night, Oct. 13, it’s a city showdown between Organ Mountain High School and Las Cruces High School, again in a 7 p.m. “Paint the Field of Dreams Pink” event. Organ Mountain (0-7) comes into the game looking for its first victory after losing to Carlsbad on the road last week 29-10. LCHS (3-4) has gotten its season back on track, winning three straight games including a 6A District 3-4 road game last week at Alamogordo, 48-21.

Centennial High School (4-2) is also on a win streak. The Hawks are 2-0 in 6A District 3-4 after winning 28-7 in Hobbs last week, their fourth straight victory overall. They are on the road again this week, traveling to Carlsbad for a 7 p.m. game against the 2-5 Cavemen. Centennial is currently ranked No. 3 in the state in 6A.

Mesilla Valley Christian School is 5-2 after winning 54-6 last week against Magdalena High School. The SonBlazers travel this week to Navajo Pine for a 1 p.m. game Saturday, Oct. 14.
