The Las Cruces branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host “Purse Bash” 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at University United Methodist Church, 2000 Locust St., at the corner of Locust and Panlener.
A brand-new Brahmin purse will be offered at silent auction, but everything else has a price tag, AAUW-LC said in a news release. There are also more than 100 gently used purses, tote bags and weekender bags available during the fundraiser.
There will also be hand-beaded jewelry items, including bookmarks, name-tag lanyards, wine charms, ornaments, keychains and garden stakes for sale.
All proceeds from the sale will benefit the AAUW-LC scholarship and a local school's Christmas project.
