The Verdi Academy of Dance in Las Cruces will present three performances of “Sleeping Beauty,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, and at both 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4. All performances will be at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, 1000 E. University Ave.
“The program includes a theatrical variation of the classical ‘Sleeping Beauty’ story with a variety of dance pieces, including classical ballet, modern dance, lyrical jazz and jazz dance,” the Verdi Academy said in a news release.
The production includes special guest dancer London Barber, a dance student at the University of Texas at El Paso, performing as Prince Phillip.
The show’s principal dancers include Sadie Lang, Keely Wooton, Ana Serrano, Ariela Guerrero, Hailey Himelright, Buse Arslan, Taylor Off, Kyra Gagnier and Savannah Brennan.

Veronica Edwards opened the Verdi Academy, 419 E. Boutz Road, in 2004. She has directed and choreographed 21 dance productions in the past 18 years.
