Aggies named to WGCA All-American Scholars

Posted

New Mexico State University reported that five Aggies were recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association for their accomplishments in the classroom. Emma Bunch, Kaylee Chen, Angela Garvin, Alison Gastelum, and Isa Laulhe were named to the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team, the association announced recently.

To be selected, a student-athlete must maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher; be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season; and have played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year, nominated through the team's conference championship.

This year's selections mark the most in the program’s history, and the 17th consecutive season with at least one WGCA Scholar All-American, the university said.

The 2023-24 selection marks the fifth time senior Gastelum earned the honor, while sophomores Bunch and Chen became two-time honorees after each earned the distinction during their freshman campaigns.
