Teresa Ann Boyer, 83

Posted

Teresa Ann “Tess” Boyer, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother joined her God on Monday September 16, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Randy; son, Aaron and wife, Ashley; daughter, Hilary and husband, Nick De Mercy; daughter, Kaitlyn and husband, Jake Oliveira; mother, Rosario Gustamente; brother, Manuel Gustamente and wife Michelle; sister, Linda and husband, Mike Snapp; brother, Rey Gustamente; brother-in-law, Marshall Boyer and wife, Gail; sister-in-law, Marina Gamez; and grandchildren, Miranda, Matthew, Shane, and Andre. Tess also had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless "adopted strays" that became family to her. Tess was gifted to Earth on November 18, 1957, in Wimpole Park, Cambridgeshire, England. As part of a military family, she lived in many places until settling down in San Antonio, TX. Her devout faith was started at a young age and deepened while she attended St Teresa's Academy. She studied Biology at Angelo State University but found a passion for working with people and pursued other careers. She would eventually find her calling as Director of Religious Education at Santa Rosa de Lima and later at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Though on occasion she was paid for her time, most of her faith-based activities were volunteer. She worked with the Diocese of Las Cruces to host multiple youth conferences, organize multiple Church fiestas, and teach many Sacrament classes. She shared her faith with many and assisted others in finding their own. An avid gardener and an animal lover, she found peace at her home with her chickens and dogs. She enjoyed traveling to new places and trying new foods, but the thing she enjoyed most was spending quality time with her family and friends. Many have shared in her joyful presence and will carry her memory with them. Tess was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Gustamente Jr; father-in-law, Marshall James Boyer; mother-in-law, Peggy Lou Boyer, and precious son, Sean Colin Boyer.

Funeral arragements: A service to celebrate her life will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda Street in Las Cruces, on Friday October 18, 2024, with the Prayer Vigil at 10AM. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated thereafter. Inurnment of Tess and her son, Sean, will follow at St. Francis Columbarium located at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the March of Dimes, one of the many causes she championed.
