Socrates Café is July 8 at Branigan Library

Posted

Implement these famous words by Socrates, “The unexamined life is not worth living,” at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Thomas Branigan Memorial Library, 200 E. Picacho Ave.

Branigan Library’s inaugural Socrates Café will be in the library boardroom on the second floor, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release. Participants will explore open-ended topics of discussion and narrow them down to a specific topic, dissecting it using the Socratic Method.

Socrates Café was founded by author and scholar Christopher Phillips in 1996 to promote critical thinking and understanding as people ponder the nature of the world around them.
