Talk on Shakespeare, ‘As You Like It,’ gender is Nov. 9 at Grounded

As You Like It at NMSU: A Talk on Shakespeare, Gender, and Performance, 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, the patio at Grounded, 300 N. Main St. Grab your favorite beverage and come talk with NMSU professors Larissa Lury (theatre) and Tracey Miller-Tomlinson (English) about early modern ideas about gender and performance traditions and policies in Shakespeare's lifetime!  Lury, who directed “As You Like It” that continues this weekend at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, will share the approach to the performance of gender being taken in the play and offer glimpses from a couple of moments from the show. 

Performances of “As You Like It” are at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Nov. 10-11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $16 for students, seniors and military and $10 for ages 18 and under. For tickets, visit https://theatre.nmsu.edu/.
