Holloman Legacy of Liberty Airshow set for Sunday, June 2

The Legacy of Liberty Airshow will occur at Holloman Air Force Base Sunday, June 2. The airshow is free and open to the general public.

According to a news release, gates open at 9 a.m. The general public will enter through the main gate at Holloman Air Force Base, U.S. Highway 70, about 10 miles west of Alamogordo and 70 miles east of Las Cruces.

Aerial performances start at 11 a.m. and end at approximately 3 p.m. Airshow grounds will be closed by 5 p.m. The show will include aircraft on static display, from warbirds and F-16s to a U.S. Army tank and a F-35A Lightning II.

Hangar 500 will offer a variety of vendors, a kids’ zone and a STEM area with activities, according to the release. There will be food trucks on site to purchase food and beverages and souvenirs will be sold.

Visitors are encouraged to bring water in non-glass water bottles. People are also welcome to bring folding chairs, hats, sunscreen, small personal umbrellas and ear protection. Strollers or wagons for children are permitted. Large backpacks are not allowed, but small ones are. All bags will be searched for prohibited items.
