Posted

A water outage scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, will affect some residents in areas on and near Luna Street, including:

  • Luna Street: From Colorado Avenue to California Avenue.
  • California Avenue: From Pecos Street to Princess Jeanne Drive.
  • Pecos Street: From the cul-de-sac to California Avenue.
  • Bellamah Drive: From Luna Street to Lees Drive.
  • Dove Lane: From Bellamah Drive to California Avenue.
  • Locust Street: From Bellamah Drive to Princess Jeanne Drive.
  • Lees Drive: From Bellamah Drive to east Idaho Avenue.

Adjacent areas may also be affected.

If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry. The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, all faucets in the residence or business should be flushed for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the City of Las Cruces at 575-526-0500 for assistance.

For information, call the city Public Works Department/Contracts Administration at 575-528-3098.

For after-hours assistance, call city Utility Dispatch at 575-526-0500.
