Intersections at University Avenue and Solano Drive and University Avenue and Espina Street will be intermittently closed at various times for approximately one hour Friday, Sept. 22.
The periodic intersection closures will affect northbound and southbound traffic on Solano Drive and Espina Street. Eastbound and westbound traffic on University Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
A detour will direct traffic around the work zone during the closures. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
The work will affect RoadRUNNER Transit Route 2 and Route 8. The periodic lane closures also will require intermittent closures of bus stop 50, on Route 2, and stop 16, on Route 8.
A-Mountain Construction will be installing new asphalt through each intersection as part of the City of Las Cruces’ University Avenue waterline and mill/overlay project.
