The intersection at University Avenue and Espina Street will be closed from 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14-6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, and again from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15-6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, the City of Las Cruces said in a news release.
The intersection closures will affect southbound traffic on Espina Street.
During each overnight closure, a detour will be in place, by way of Monte Vista Avenue, to direct traffic around the work zone.
Westbound traffic on University Avenue also will be detoured, by way of Solano Drive. The work will affect RoadRUNNER Transit Route 2. Bus stops 9, 10, 49, and 50 on Route 2 will be closed during this time.
Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during the closures. Motorists are urged to follow all posted signs.
A-Mountain Construction will be working on water line installations as part of the University Avenue Waterline and Mill/Overlay project.
